Spartan Regiment Update 2/15/21

Friday:  To be determined. Indoor Winds Rehearsal 9:30am-1pm Director team is monitoring the situation with the school district.  


Band Pictures Photo Gallery Orders Extended to Sunday February 21st

LAST chance to be a part of the 2020-2021 CHS Band Photo and Senior Photo is THIS Wednesday. 4:30-5pm. 
SENIORS will need their band jersey, track pants, & band shoes for the senior picture.


2021 Solo and Ensemble

Our BISD Solo and Ensemble contest will be Mon, May 17th at Centennial HS.  All wind & percussion players are required to perform at least a solo. Students who take private lessons should work with their teacher to pick out a solo appropriate for them. Seniors who perform a Class 1 solo and earn a division one rating at the contest have the opportunity to compete for Scholarship Money. (Senior Recital Wed, May 19th)

  • Money are due by March 1st Payments made in CutTime - *Parents can login in after Feb 28th to make payments*
  • *(If you are not using school music, order solo music ASAP)*



UIL Concert  Band and Rehearsals

UIL Concert & Sightreading preparation has already begun in daily classroom rehearsals. Eligibility for UIL Concert & Sight-Reading contest is determined by band grades (including passoffs), attendance, and class participation. Student Commitment/Survey form must be on file. 

  • Morning Rehearsals begin the week of February 15th (Tuesday through Friday)
  • Concert Horns 7am-8:30am
  • 6:30am band opens; arrive by 6:50am; in seats by 6:55am; start 7am

This year has been a challenging one that brought a lot of uncertainty.  Some students didn't know what the school year was going to look like for them and chose to pursue other opportunities. 


STUDENTS - If you know of a student that WAS in band at Kerr or Steam and would like to return, encourage that student to meet with a Director.

Band Class Passoff Schedule - TEST GRADES

Passoff assignments are TEST grades. Students may retest to receive up to full credit, but students must retest before the end of the 6 weeks.

Indoor Drumline and Winterguard Fees READY to be PAID

It's important to stay on track with the band fees.  We purchase a lot of items for the students & pay for marching techs, colorguard techs, percussion techs, & masterclass teachers.  Most of the money is spent in August. If you need a different financial arrangement than the $100 per month please email Mr. Klein.  Please make your payments online in Cut Time with a debit/credit card.**You MUST create a username & password first**
