UIL Concert  Band Information and Rehearsals - Thursday April 22nd


This year's contest is closed to only directors and students. Our UIL music will be performed at our Spring Concert on Tuesday, April 27th in the CHS Arena at 7pm. We do offer a social distant school bus ride, but students can drive themselves if they wish (BISD Travel Release Form is on file form the fall marching season). To help us plan accordingly, please complete our bus rider survey below. Please review our concert dress requirements and click the link (sent via email) to view our schedule. 

Concert Dress

  • Gentlemen: All black semi formal (long sleeve collared shirts (no polos), black pants (no jeans), black belt, black socks, and black dress shoes.
  • Ladies: Black dress (floor length) & black dress shoes or black blouse, black pants, and black closed toe flats.

2021 Solo and Ensemble

Our BISD Solo and Ensemble contest will be Mon, May 17th at Centennial HS.  All wind & percussion players are required to perform at least a solo. Students who take private lessons should work with their teacher to pick out a solo appropriate for them. Seniors who perform a Class 1 solo and earn a division one rating at the contest have the opportunity to compete for Scholarship Money. (Senior Recital Wed, May 19th)

Mission Possible:  Grow the Band

This year has been a challenging one that brought a lot of uncertainty.  Some students didn't know what the school year was going to look like for them and chose to pursue other opportunities. 


STUDENTS - If you know of a student that WAS in band at Kerr or Steam and would like to return, encourage that student to meet with a Director.

Band Class Passoff Schedule - TEST GRADES

Passoff assignments are TEST grades. Students may retest to receive up to full credit, but students must retest before the end of the 6 weeks.

1st Annual Band Golf Tournament - May 1st

Location:  Hidden Creek Golf Course

Pay Band Fees Online

Indoor Drumline and Winterguard Fees READY to be PAID

It's important to stay on track with the band fees.  We purchase a lot of items for the students & pay for marching techs, colorguard techs, percussion techs, & masterclass teachers.  Most of the money is spent in August. If you need a different financial arrangement than the $100 per month please email Mr. Klein.  Please make your payments online in Cut Time with a debit/credit card.**You MUST create a username & password first**
