Hello Spartan Regiment Family,

You SURVIVED your first week of band camp...YEA!! It was a very productive week with the Jagged Line Prop arriving on Thursday, continuing to refine visual, guard, and music fundamentals, and Ultimate Drill Book Training. Thank you parents and drum majors for closing out the week with a refreshing popsicle and water balloon fight. This week we are learning drill with cell phones using the UDB app. Make sure they are charged and ready to go. Also, it's TIME TO FIT the Regiment starting on Wednesday. Veterans make sure to find your marching shoes and try them on.

IMPORTANT Notes:

  • Sunscreen, hat/visor, water jugs required  - NEW members of the Spartan Regiment will receive their water jugs at a later date. They are being ordered.  Please bring your own for the time being or see a director for a slightly used jug. Students will need to clean jug before initial use.

  • MAKE SURE YOU EAT BREAKFAST & DRINK WATER before you come to each rehearsal.  Being outside in the heat you need to have energy & be hydrated.  99% of the kids who start to not feel well say "I didn't eat breakfast".  Do NOT skip breakfast; anything to eat is better than nothing.  Toast, eggs, peanut butter, cereal, (try not to overdo the milk), oatmeal, fruit, etc.

  • Cell phones charged and ready to go for learning drill


August camp is where we will be deciding our primary marching spots & begin learning the drill for the show as well as the rest of the show music, stand tunes, & drill team tunes.  Attendance is mandatory.  Any absences need to be communicated in writing to Mr. Klein prior to the absence - aklein@bisdmail.net; Work or not having a ride is not excused.

 

Uniform/Shoe/Glove Fitting  - Wed, Aug 4 during afternoon block (1-5pm) -- Veteran members - please find your marching shoes & see if they still fit!


Volunteers NEEDED

We could still use volunteers to help use serve students from 9:00 - 10:30 this week. Please consider signing up for one shift and taking the first steps to getting involved and supporting this awesome group of people. You will find the link to sign-up and a list of how many people we need to fill the volunteer spots each day in the eamil.

BLITZ Fundraiser 

Thank you to everyone who participated and donated.We raised $35,036!! Great job everyone. The winners of the Texas de Brazil dinner are: (Trombones: Elise Lewis, Aaron Browder, Leanna Damaso, Matthew Winchester, Trey-Brandon Wing, Matthew Fournier, Ethan Tomme, & Grady Dishko; Friends: Ryan Harkcom and Ryder Huskins) Congratulations! Thursday, August 5th at 7pm is the tentative date for the dinner.


Band Registration - PAST DUE

It's time to register to be a part of the 2021-2022 Spartan Regiment! The information provided in this form is then put into our CutTime system to communicate Regiment Updates, pay band fees, process instrument check-outs, T-shirt sizes, uniform sizes...etc.

IMPORTANT - we will import NEW member information in CutTime. 
  • You will receive an email to create your own username and password. Please don't sign-up through their website, it can create a duplicate account.

UIL Physical DUE AUGUS 1st!

  • UIL is requiring all marching band students to get a physical. 
  • All Marching Band members NEED a Physical on file with Mr. Klein by AUGUST 1st..  
  • Please see Mr. Klein's email for a link that contains frequently asked questions about UIL Physical and how it's being implemented.


Band Fees - READY to be PAID through CutTime


It's important to stay on track with the band fees.  We purchase a lot of items for the students & pay for marching techs, colorguard techs, percussion techs, & masterclass teachers.  Most of the money is spent in August. If you need a different financial arrangement than the $125 per month please email Mr. Klein.  ALL payments must be made online through CutTime


Upcoming payments:

  • 4th $125 due Wednesday, September 1st

  • Percussion Usage Fee - $75 or Instrument Usage Fee - $25 per semester

    *At this time all payments will be made in CutTime with debit/credit card* Reach out to Mr. Klein for more information.

ACT/SAT Dates PLEASE READ:

The 2021-2022 ACT & SAT dates have been released. Please check our calendar before signing up for tests. There are MANY opportunities that do not conflict with Band/Drumline/Winds/Colorguard contests where we need 100% of our members. We have added all these good dates to our Google Calendar so you can see how they line up.

Marching Contest and Performance Dates:


These dates are required for ALL Spartan Regiment Marching Band members regardless of role/position.  Please clear the whole day and do NOT sign up for the ACT or SAT or go on vacation on these dates. We need 100% of our team to be successful.  It is a Test Grade; unexcused absence is a 0.

NEED Quality Videos post to our Facebook Group


The director team would like to build our recruitment efforts with students and business sponsors. We need parent and student assistance. Throughout this year you can post short videos on our closed Facebook group Spartan Regiment. We will need quality iphone videos of band/guard/percussion/winds camps, rehearsals, contest days, loading/unloading, games, in the stands playing, volunteers….etc. This makes it easier for directors to make a NEW band promotion video for incoming 8th class and business sponsors.
